Count Dorsaz - brought to the US by Bazy Tankersley
from Great Britain. She said that *Count Dorsaz would float over the ground
with all four feet up at the same time. He won the Winston Churchill Cup
for best riding horse of all breeds - twice. The only other horse to win
twice was a son of *Count Dorsaz.

Gai Parada - the kind of horse
we dream of. A National Champion halter Arabian, a National Champion performance
horse and a sire of great champions. His daughters are still much sought
after as the best all-around brood mares. Crossed to any other line, they
pass on the great Gainey characteristics. Son of the incredible Ferzon.

*Bask
- upon his arrival
in America, *Bask set new standards for Arabians in both halter and performance.
When you consider his race record, halter and performance wins and those
of his get, you realize we may never see the likes of him again. *Bask
line Arabians are the "can do everything" horses.

Newton paid the highest price ever paid for a horse at auction when they
bought Naborr at 19 years old. Sire of America's first Triple Crown mare.
He was known as Mr. Chauncey's "Master Jewel", and so he was.
Wayne Newton's farm was named for the *Naborr son, *Aramus.

Azraff
- voted a living legend of Arabians and the
basis for many of today's breeding programs. The Azraff / Ferzon
Breeders Association continues today as a tribute to these fine stallions.
Azraff and his owners will always be remembered for their contributions
to the Arabian horse in America.

*Dornaba
- America's first ever Triple Crown winning mare. The dam of the beautiful
Jewel Drift.

Ferzon
- on left with son Gai Parada.
With this horse, the Gainey name was assured in the Arabian horse world.
He was truly the fountainhead. I have a tape of Ferzon and when I see
it, he still takes my breath away. Ferzon established the "Gainey
type" with large, soft, expressive eyes, pronounced jowl, short head
and small ears. Beauty, type and great disposition - these Arabians have
it all.
